National High Magnetic Field Laboratory
JRA worked with Raytheon Engineers & Contractors, Inc. of Boston to design the $50 million National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, a project of the National Science Foundation. The building has 250,000 square feet of teaching and research space and is operated jointly by Florida State University, the University of Florida and the federal governments Los Alamos National Laboratory. It is considered the worlds foremost facility for the study of pulsed and steady-state magnetic fields, their characteristics and application in medicine and other fields.
